Hip and knee arthroplasty was introduced in Nepal in the early 1990s and has since seen a steady increase over the last two decades, proliferating both within and beyond the Kathmandu Valley.
Initially formed as a subcommittee under the Nepal Orthopedic Association (NOA) in 2020, the Nepal Arthroplasty Society (NAS) was officially inaugurated on January 1, 2024, with the vision of creating an umbrella organization and a platform for all arthroplasty surgeons of Nepal.
